10th Anniversary - Saturday 5 PM Mass

At the beginning of each Mass, there was a procession of flowers to Our Lady.  Everyone was invited to bring flowers and process in and to place their flowers at the feet the Our Lady of Guadalupe tapestry.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, Pray for Us! St. Juan Diego, Pray for Us!

Bishop Kenneth Steiner, Fr. John Kerns, Fr. Ted Frison and Deacon Dennis Desmarais celebrated the Saturday Vigil Mass.

10th Anniversary Potluck

The 10th Anniversary Celebration got off to a great start with a potluck at St. Pius X Community Center.  As you can see from the pictures below, there was lots of food, music and fellowship.

The St. Pius X Community Center was filled with old friends and new!

We had some singing too... with an original song "Our Special Place - St. Juan Diego"

A big Thanks to the folks that coordinated this celebration: Katy LaDu, Mary Johnson and Shirley Bertram (plus many others!)

The children's choir also put on a performance of some songs they've been practicing. They will be singing at the 3:30 Christmas Eve Mass.

Happy Anniversary

Two years ago we dedicated the new church - St. Juan Diego Catholic Church.  I thought I would post of few pictures from that day to help remind us of the joy and thankfulness of that day.  May the joy of God always fill our hearts.

Blessing of the Animals

The custom of blessing pets is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all creatures.  We had beautiful sunny weather for this year's pet blessing and lots of dogs and a few more cats. Photos taken by Shirley Toth.

Annual Parish Picnic

The picnic started off with some live music!  What talented folks we have in this parish.

 and a water balloon toss...

 and some face painting...

We can't forget our wonderful parish nurses offering flu vaccinations.

It was a nice, cool day for a picnic.

Fr. Ted was able to meet lots of parishioners.

Other parishioners shared some of their talents also.

Back in the Churchnasium

For the weekend of the church picnic, we celebrated Mass back where it all started... in the gymnasium at PCC Rock Creek.  We brought over the old altar and some flowers and it felt like home again!

Janette Strand, liturgy and choir director, strikes the Tibetan bell just like old times.
Meet Fr. Ted Frison, our new parish priest.  Be sure to listen to his sermon to learn more about his background.
Let us pray as Jesus taught us to pray....

Silver Rose at St. Juan Diego Church

Silver Rose Procession  Pope Benedict XVI asked the Knights of Columbus to lead a prayer procession from Canada to Mexico City for the sanctity of life.  St. Juan Diego Parish had the privilege to host the Silver Rose. A rosary was prayed together for the sanctity of life, led by our local Knights.
